Web Video Marketing as a Sales Tool

Web Video Marketing is the hottest thing going and will only get hotter as more people turn away from traditional television to the medium of online video.

The big problem with television in general is that it isn’t giving people what they want, when they want it.

Yes, they’ve finally gotten the message and created ways to record and watch thing you’d like to see when it’s convenient for you to watch them but they still don’t give you anywhere near the control as the web.

We all know the power of infomercials.  They’ve sold billions of dollars of products and made icons of folks like the late Billy Mays.

Now, imagine the power of selling your products and services via “infomercial” type videos placed onto your website.

This replaces the drab webpage with a “living” commercial.

You can show all the features and benefits of your product as people watch and you can make it fun as well.

Actual demonstrations of your products (or services) will pump sales through the roof compared to just telling about them.

Remember, facts tell and stories sell.  What better medium for a story than video?

Small businesses and large can benefit from taking their prospects from a newspaper ad, yellow pages or whatever and sending them online for a visual story of how their product works and demonstrating how it’s better than the competition.

Entertainers are the highest paid people in the world.  If you use video to educate and entertain, the sky’s the limit on your profit potential.

In the next segment, we’ll discuss web video as an SEO tool.

If you decide to use web video as part of your SEO strategy, you’ll need to upload your videos to multiple video sites and that takes a whole lot of time to do.  You can check out a video submission tool that I, personally, use to speed this process up.  It’s called Traffic Geyser and it will make your life a lot easier.

You can get a Traffic Geyser Free Trial for a limited time.  Check it out.

This post is a direct response to a new follower of mine on Twitter, @affiliatelink, Claire Rogers.  Thank you, Claire, for your interest.

You asked me “How do you think small businesses should best use web video?”

Since we’re limited to 140 characters on Twitter, I thought I’d reply to you with a couple of posts on my blog that would help you and also be available to others.

Web video is hot! You can use it to accomplish a number of things.

If you want to build rapport with your audience, nothing will do it like web video.  How else can you get to know someone better, except for in person and face to face.

You’ve probably followed someone, in your lifetime, that you were able to watch via video of some kind.   At some point, you had a chance to meet them in person and maybe you were surprised that they didn’t recognize you.

That’s how connected we can get with people with video.  Email marketing accomplishes much the same thing but not nearly as effectively as web video.

There is nothing so powerful as video to convey your message while at the same time building credibility with your audience.

When people actually get to see your facial expressions, hear your voice and “meet” you in “person” they’ll bond with you so rigidly that you’d have to pry them loose with a crowbar to get away from them.

I think, of all the benefits, and ways of using web video to market a small business, this is the most powerful.

Many times it’s accomplished without the person using it even realizing what they’ve done.  They just set out to sell a product and opted to use video to do that.  Next thing you know, they’ve got a super loyal following.

To optimize your use of video, you’ll need to submit your videos to multiple video upload sites, directories and social bookmarking sites as well as podcasting sites.  This is an overwhelming task to undertake without the help of video submission software.

I use Traffic Geyser and you can see my review of it at Traffic Geyser Free Trial.  You definitely want to check this out while it’s free.

In the next segment, I’ll talk about video as a sales tool.
